Zhang Baicheng is a professor, master supervisor, Doctor of the Beijing Foreign Studies University, Member of Corpus Linguistics Society of China, council member of China Association of Language & Education, executive council member of Association for Language Testing of Chongqing Foreign Language Association, one of the first experts listed in the social science expert pool of Chongqing, member of Chongqing Committee of Accreditation for Senior Professional and Technical Qualifications of College Teachers in Foreign Languages, member of the Academic Committee of Chongqing Jiaotong University, and vice chairman of the Academic Committee of Humanities and Social Sciences of Chongqing Jiaotong University. His main research interests include discourse analysis, language acquisition and corpus establishment and application. Mao Mingyong is a Master of Arts, professor and master supervisor. Huang Jianping is a professor, master supervisor, doctoral candidate of Southwest University, Secretary General of Chongqing Foreign Language Association, executive council member of China Association of Language & Education, and executive council member of Foreign Language Education Research Association in western China.His main research interests include cognitive linguistics, English for special purposes and English education.He has published nearly 20 journal articles on Foreign Language Teaching and Research, Foreign Languages and Their Teaching and other journals. He is currently leading a humanities and social sciences project of the Ministry of Education “A Study on the Neurocognition with Mark Focus Structures in a Cross-Linguistic Perspective“ and 5 provincial-level and ministerial-level projects, presiding over 7 projects above provincial and ministerial level. He has acted as the editor or associate editor of more than 10 textbooks, and won over 20 awards such as “Advanced Individual in Teaching Management in Chongqing Universities“.He mainly teaches undergraduate and graduate student courses such as “Cognitive Linguistics” and “English for Bridge Engineering“.
Chen Caiyi is a professor and master supervisor. Cao Shunfa is a professor, master supervisor (part-time) of Sichuan International Studies University and Master of Southwest University. He was selected into Chongqing Social Sciences Expert Database and won the second “Top Ten Teachers of Chongqing Jiaotong University“ and the “Talent Recommendation Award of Beijing ZhongJiaoHuaLian Technology Development Co., Ltd.“ in 2014.His research interests include translation theory and practice and lexicology. Luo Tian is a professor, master supervisor, and vice president of Chongqing Translators Association. He received his PhD Degree in Linguistics (English) from the University of Macau. His main research interests include discourse analysis approach to translation studies, military translation history, corpus-based translation studies and multimodal translation studies. His publications include more than 30 journal articles (some on Perspective, Babel and LANS-TTS); 2 monographs, 2 translations and 2 textbooks. He is currently leading the research project “A Study on the Translation and Reception of Mahan’s Sea Power Theory in China (1900-2016)”sponsored by the National Social Science Foundation of China. He has completed a humanities and social sciences project “Interdisciplinary Research on the Military Translation during the War against Japanese Invasion“ sponsored by the Ministry of Education, P. R. China, one humanities and social science project sponsored by Chongqing Municipal Education Commission and two more at provincial level. He is teaching undergraduate and graduate courses such as “English-Chinese Translation“, “Translation Research Methodology“ and “Studies in Translation History“. He has undertaken interpretation and translation work for enterprises and government departments for many times, guided students to participate in translation volunteer activities and translation competitions at home and abroad, and helped many students win prizes.
Li Cuiying is a professor, master supervisor, Doctor of Soochow University, Post-doctor of Beijing Normal University, visiting research scholar supported by China Scholarship Council (to University of Sydney), and academic leader of language education in School of Foreign Languages, Chongqing Jiaotong University. Her main research interests include functional linguistics, teacher education and development. She has published 20 journal articles on important domestic and overseas journals such as Foreign Language World and English Teaching: Critique and Practice and also 4 books, including A Study on Collocation Dynamics in the Perspective of Linguistic Adaptation Theory. She has led the humanities and social sciences research project of “Research on Isostructural Model of College English Curriculum Construction and Teacher Development from the Perspective of GBP Theory” sponsored by the Ministry of Education, and 3 other provincial-level projects, and participated in more than 10 national social sciences fund projects, humanities and social sciences projects sponsored by the Ministry of Education and other provincial-level projects. Zeng Qingmin is a professor and master supervisor. Her main research interests include cognitive linguistics and English teaching methodology. She has published more than 30 journal articles on Journal of PLA University of Foreign Languages and other academic journals, completed more than 10 scientific research projects, including 2 humanities and social sciences projects sponsored by the Ministry of Education, and led 3 provincial-level key projects, more than 10 school-level projects, 1 first-class curriculum in Chongqing and 5 provincial-level and ministerial-level projects. She acted as the editor-in-chief of 1 textbook under the 12th Five-Year Plan. She is teaching undergraduate and graduate courses such as “College English”, “Business English Writing”, “English Test” and “Postgraduate English”.
Zhang Zhouyi is a professor, Master of Southwest University, member of International Association of Applied Linguistics, member of China English Language Education Association, one of the teachers involved in the Program supported by Foundation for University Young Key Teachers in Chongqing, member of the undergraduate and graduate teaching steering group of Chongqing Jiaotong University, council member of the Teacher Development Promotion Committee, and group leader of public English teaching for postgraduates. Her main research interest includes foreign language learning theory. Huang Yihuan is an associate professor, master supervisor, Doctor of Sichuan University and Post-doctor of Southwest University. Her main research interests include theoretical linguistics, language philosophy and Chinese grammar. Qiu Jin is an associate professor, Doctor of Sichuan International Studies University and council member of China Association of Language & Education. Her main research interests include philosophy of mind and language study, cognitive linguistics and English for special purposes. She has published over 20 journal articles on Contemporary Rhetoric, Foreign Language and Literature, Journal of Xi’an International Studies University and other journals. Zhang Xuemei, with PhD,isan associate professor of English Language and Literature. Her main academic research interests include British literature during Renaissance, American literature in the 19th century and religion and literature. She has published more than 10 journal articles on Foreign Literature Studies, Foreign Language and Literature, Journal of Southwest University for Nationalities (Humanities and Social Sciences), Studies in Literature and Language, The International Journal of Literary Humanities and other journals, and participated in the edition of 5 monographs such as Detailed Notes to Famous English Short Stories. She led one social science planning project in Chongqing, one humanities and social science project sponsored by Chongqing Municipal Education Commission and four school-level projects (education reform), and participated in one national social sciences fund project. She was one of the teachers involved in the first Program supported by Foundation for University Young and Middle-Aged Key Teachers in Chongqing (2003), She has won more than 10 provincial and school-level teaching awards, such as the first prize in the Teaching Competition for Young College English Teachers in Eastern Sichuan Region (1996) and the first prize in the Teaching Competition for Young College English Teachers in Sichuan Province (1996). Her main research interests include foreign translation theory and practice, second language acquisition and study on English teaching. Chen Fuyu is an associate professor, Master of Sichuan Normal University, visiting scholar of Beijing Foreign Studies University and council member of Chongqing Translators Association. His main research interest includes translation and cross-cultural communication.He has published 5 translations and nearly 20 journal articles on domestic and overseas academic journals. Zou Xia, female, is an associate professor, Master and member of Chongqing Translators Association, with rich experience in translation teaching. She has published two script translations, presided over two school-level projects, and participated in one provincial-level and ministerial-level project. She also published multiple journal articles on Shandong Foreign Language Teaching Journal, Technology Enhanced Foreign Languages, Journal of Sichuan International Studies University and other academic journals, and acted as the editor-in-chief of the “Interpretation Practice in Engineering English” and so on. She mainly teaches courses such as “Engineering Interpretation”, “Basic Interpretation” and “Business Translation”.
Zheng Yujing is an associate professor and Master of Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics of Chongqing University, and member of Association for Language Testing of Chongqing Foreign Language Association. Liu Anping, associate professor, received his Bachelor’s degree in China West Normal University and the Master’s degree in Southwest University. He is a council member of Chongqing Foreign Language Teaching Research Association and vice dean of School of Foreign Languages, Chongqing Jiaotong University. He acted as a state-sponsored Chinese teacher and the Chinese President of Confucius Institute in Benin. His research interests include English Education and Language Acquisition.He has published 1 monograph jointly with others, conducted and participated in the edition of multiple professional textbooks such as College English Daily Practice 1-4, College English Listening and College English Reading. Chen Bo, associate professor, is a doctoral candidate of the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He was selected by China Scholarship Council to study in PGDELT Program of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore in 2004 and obtained the postgraduate diploma and Master’s Degree in Applied Linguistics.His research interests include English Writing Teaching, English Writing Skill Development and Assessment, Foreign Language Class Assessment, Assessment Quality for Foreign Language Teachers and Cognition and Development of Foreign language Teachers.He has published 4 papers in journals like English Australia, participated in some international conferences to read 3 papers, joined in 5 scientific research projects at all levels, as well as assisted in setting 2 excellent courses and editing 5 teaching and educational materials.He mainly teaches graduate and undergraduate courses such as Research on the Development of Foreign Language Teachers, Scientific and Technological Activities and Academic Norms, English Writing and Lexicology.
Wang Ming, associate professor, is a master of Sichuan International Studies University and a doctoral candidate of Chongqing Jiaotong University (majoring in Bridge and Tunnel Engineering). Her research interests include engineering translation, English for special purposes and English literature. She has published more than 10 papers in domestic and foreign journals, and also acted as the Chief Editor of the textbooks Highway Engineering English and English for International Engineering Management Practice. She mainly teaches courses such as Engineering English, Highway Engineering English, Introduction to Engineering Materials, International Civil Engineering Practice and Engineering English Literature Reading.
Yi Yu, associate professor and Master, has been engaged in teaching College English for undergraduates ever since 1991, and has also taught courses such as College English Intensive Reading, College English Extensive Reading, College English Listening, College English Grammar and Graduate English, which all makes her an experienced teacher. She has published more than 20 teaching research papers, co-edited 3 teaching materials, led 2 school-level scientific research projects and joined in 2 provincial scientific research projects. The passing rate of CET-4 in her classes has been among the best in the entire grade for many times, and some even reached a percentage as high as 80%.Yi once won the fourth Chongqing Excellent Audio-Visual Teaching Research Achievement (Textbook) Award, an outstanding teacher of Chongqing Jiaotong University, the second “Excellent Teaching Quality Special Award” for Teachers of Chongqing Jiaotong University, the first “Excellent Teaching Quality Special Award” of Chongqing Jiaotong University and other awards. Her average score by online evaluation over the years is even higher than 92.
Shu Hongling,associate professor and Master of Shanghai University, is mainly engaged in the research of Cognitive Semantics, International Chinese Language Education, Overseas Dissemination of Chinese Medicine Culture.Shu has published more than 10 papers, and led projects like “A Study on the Integrated Mode of Teaching Elementary Oral Chinese as a Foreign Language and Writing from the Perspective of Theory Construction -- Taking African foreign students as the research object”.As an international Chinese teacher, she once taught Chinese and disseminated Chinese culture in Benin and Australia.She mainly teaches undergraduate, graduate and foreign student courses such as Graduate English, College English and Chinese Language Teaching for Foreign Students.
Xiang Yinhua, associate professor, is a master of Sichuan International Studies University and a member of Chongqing Translators Association.His research interests include translation theory and practice as well as foreign language teaching. Xiang has published more than 10 papers such as “An Analysis on the Translation of Puns in Advertising Language” and “Validity of the Principle of Dynamic Equivalence” in many domestic and foreign academic journals including Journal of Chongqing Jiaotong University, Journal of Hubei University of Economics and Journal of Language Teaching and Research, Theory and Practice in Language Studies. In addition, he has co-edited 3 teaching materials, published 1 translation, led 1 school-level scientific research project and joined in 2 school-level scientific research projects. Zhang Jing, associate professor, graduated from Southwest China Normal University. As a master, he majors in foreign language teaching and English contract law. He has published 4 academic papers, co-edited Selected Passages for Appreciation and Recitation for College Students, College English Listening & Speaking, A Comprehensive English Coaching Course for Non-English Majors and other 6 textbooks, and also compiled a book I CAN SPEAK ENGLISH by himself.Furthermore, he has led and completed the project “Research on English Reading and the Improvement of College Students’ Humanistic Literacy”, and participated in another research project.
Chen Jie, associate professor and Master of Southwest University, majors in Translation Research and Corpus Linguistics. She once won the Award for Excellence in Teaching from Ministry of Education and the third prize of Chongqing Audio-Visual Teaching Research Achievement Award. She has published over 10 academic papers, compiled College English Translation, College English Extensive Reading and CELC: Learning at Your Own Pace, and co-edited 13 more textbooks. She mainly teaches courses such as College English and English Language Testing.
Li Yong, associate professor and Master of Southwest University, who majors in inter-cultural communication between China and Europe and comparison and translation of Chinese to foreign languages, has published more than 10 papers in such academic journals as Journal of PLA University of Foreign Languages, Foreign Language Research and Journal of Central China Normal University (Humanities and Social Sciences), led 2 school-level educational reform projects and 2 provincial scientific research projects and jointed in 1 national social sciences fund project, as well as compiled 3 textbooks and 1 dictionary. He mainly teaches courses such as College English (I - II), Communications between Cultures, A Glimpse of China, Integrated English Course for Postgraduates and Intermediate Chinese Reading.
Fu Xiao, Master and associate professor, has obtained the Bachelor’s Degree in English Education from Southwest University and the Master’s Degree in English Education from University of Strathclyde in Britain, and also acts as a visiting scholar for University of Technology Sydney. Moreover, she is a senior researcher of Research Institute of Silk-road Culture and Language Policy, a member of Chongqing Translators Association, and a member of Chongqing Foreign Language Association. Her research interests include language education, applied linguistics and second language acquisition. So far she has led 1 national project, 1 provincial key project, 2 school-enterprise projects and 2 school-level projects, one of which was awarded with school-level teaching research achievement prize, and she has also published 11 academic papers, including 3 in international language journals and 1 in foreign language journal. In addition, she has co-edited 2 books and won the first prize in the 2015 “Teaching Star” Competition Finals of Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, the third prize in the third Chongqing “Foreign Teachers’ Club Cup” English Teaching Competition, the first prize in the Excellent Teaching Plan Competition of Chongqing Jiaotong University and the special prize of Excellent Teaching Quality for Teachers of Chongqing Jiaotong University, as well as instructed her students to win the second prize and the prize for excellence in the National “CCTV Cup” English Speech Contest. Guo Jingyi, associate professor and master supervisor, has obtained the Bachelor’s Degree in English from Sichuan University and the Master’s Degree in English from Zhejiang University, and also acts as a visiting scholar for Swansea University in Britain. Guo is mainly engaged in ESP Engineering English teaching, and has compiled Tunnel Engineering English for colleges and universities; her translation Album of the Island-Tunnel Project of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge won the 2019 excellent themed publication of the CPC Publicity Department; her engineering translation Oresund Technical Publications-The Tunnel won the third prize of 2019 excellent translation publication of Chongqing Translators Association; She also has published monographs Translation Theory and Practice From a Cross-Cultural Perspective and IT-based Research on English Teaching Method and Reform, as well as English papers “Professional English Training for Chinese Engineers on Overseas Projects under One Belt and One Road Strategy” (Higher Education in Canada). She once acted as the full-time English interpreter for Ertan Hydropower Station Project in Sichuan (China) and Island-Tunnel Project of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge. Guo not only teaches courses such as Civil Engineering English, Engineering English Translation, Shipping and Ocean Engineering English, Tunnel Engineering English, FIDIC and International Business Negotiation for undergraduates, graduates and foreign students, but also provides Civil Engineering English training for overseas project talent classes of China Railway Construction Corporation Limited and China Communications Construction Company Limited.
Feng Lan, associate professor and Master of Applied Linguistics from University of Southampton, is a visiting scholar for University of Reading, a member of Chongqing Foreign Language Association and that of Chongqing Translators Association, a member of the Youth Academic Committee of the University, as well as key member of the University’s language education and teacher development team. She is mainly engaged in foreign language teaching and research. Her research interests include the application of chunk memory strategies and metacognitive strategies, language testing, academic English writing, ESP teaching and effective paths for ESP teachers’ professional development. She has published more than 10 papers in foreign and domestic academic journals. During her stay at the University of Reading in the UK as a visiting scholar, Feng published 2 papers named “A Study on the Effectiveness of Chunk Memory Strategies on the Development of English Listening Ability” and “A Study on the Correlation between Metacognitive Strategies and Listening Comprehension Cultivation” in Foreign Language and Literature, a core foreign language journal. Besides, she has led 1 project of Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press and 2 projects of educational reform at school level, and conducted 6 provincial and ministerial projects and 1 project of the Ministry of Education. Feng has won the Chongqing Teaching Competition Award, the second prize of school-level teaching achievements and the first prize of Teaching Competition, as well as the special teaching quality award and the annual excellent teacher award for several times, gaining remarkable achievements. She always creates a lively and warm classroom atmosphere for students, and has been ranked among the top 5% in the online evaluation of teaching quality for many times. She was also nominated for the 4th “Top Ten Teachers” award in the School. Ran Xiu is a doctor from Yamaguchi University, Japan. She is a honorary research fellow (post-doctor) of Yamaguchi University, and an academic leader of Japanese Language and Literature at the School of Foreign Languages, Chongqing Jiaotong University. Ran’s research interests include modern Chinese and Japanese literature, literature philology and literature translation. She has published more than 10 professional academic papers in journals such as World Literature, Japanese Studies, Forward Position, and East Asian Studies, as well as a monograph A Study on the True Story of Ah Q. Ran has compiled Selected Reading for Modern Japanese Literature, co-edited Practical Japanese for Travelers, led 1 key project and 1 general project of humanities and social sciences at the provincial level, and joined in 1 provincial research project of humanities and social sciences. She mainly offers graduate and undergraduate courses such as Introduction to Japanese Literature, History of Japanese Literature Thoughts, Special Study on Modern Japanese Literature, Close Reading of Japanese Literatures and College Japanese.
Li Min, lecturer and master supervisor, is a doctor in Applied Linguistics from Osaka City University, Japan. Her research interests include psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics and Japanese education. Li has successfully published 8 academic papers in journals such as Humanistic studies, ことばの Scientific Research, Speech Informatics Research and Language and Language Education, in which she always remains as the first author. She has also delivered academic reports for 7 times at national academic conferences organized by Japanese Language Education Association, Japanese Association of Social Speech Science and Japanese Speech Science Association.Li mainly teaches undergraduate and graduate courses such as College Japanese, Introduction to Psycholinguistics, Introduction to Neurolinguistics and Introduction to Japanese Education.
Chen Xiaoxiao is a doctoral candidate of Sichuan International Studies University, a member of Chongqing Translators Association, and a visiting scholar for Literature Research Department of Hosei University in Tokyo, Japan. She used to be the interpreter for exchange visits between Hiroshima and Chongqing, the interpreter for special training of administrative cadres of Ritsumeikan University, and a visiting scholar for Literature Research Department of Osaka City University, Japan. Chen’s research interests include modern Japanese literature, Dazai Osamu’s literature, social gender, and comparison of modern Chinese and Japanese literature. She has published 9 papers and 2 translations in domestic and foreign journals, presented 7 papers in some international conferences, led 2 school-level projects, joined in 1 national social science fund project and 5 scientific research projects at all levels. She mainly offers courses such as Special Study on Japanese Literature, History of Japanese Literature and Translation Theory and Practice.
Chen Yi, lecturer and Doctor of Sichuan University, majors in Anglo-American utopian novels and Anglo-American science fictions. Chen has published monographs like Aspects of Anglo-American Women’s Popular Novels in the 20th Century and Consumer Culture and Development of Anglo-American Science Fictions, as well as several papers on Sichuan Drama, Journal of Chongqing Jiaotong University (Social Science Edition), Journal of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Comparative Literature: East & West and other academic journals.
